Default Interesting Blood-MM build

I have been playing with a MM Necro (N/Rt) for a while and discovered an interesting build for PvE. The point is to assist the other players and deal a lot of dmg, but always from a distance. Its a complete necro build with no skills from secondary prof except flesh of my flesh.

Blood Magic 10+
Death Magic 15-16
Soul Reaping 9+
Remaining points in Restoration

Skills
Life Siphon
Vampiric Swarm
Deathly Swarm
Well of Blood
Blood of the Master
Flesh Golem
Animate Bone Fiend
Flesh of my Flesh

A good Death Staff is important (20/20, armor +5, health +30 or armor +5 again, a death or blood +1 upgrade is always welcome).

The result of this build is that you deal aprox. 150 dmg/sec with 7+ minions, and restore your health. You also have AoE both in attacking and healing, aswell as res. It is important to stay at the rear and to balance health loss from healing minions with health gaining, so you dont occupie the monks.
Well thats it, works fine for me.

Soul Reaping is slightly low for an MM that also needs to spam damage spells with no other energy management. I'd also suggest taking out Deathly Swarm for Blood Ritual, since you've already invested a good portion of points in blood.

His point is to deal damage; Blood Ritual is a battery skill. 9 in Soul Reaping works fine, but I must suggest that he brings Horrors with him, because those are energy effecient and are better meat shields than Fiends. The Golem is cool, but I think there are better elites.

Not a bad build with the exception of some possible energy management problems, however you must have death magic at 16 to be a MM (you put 15-16), fiends are you best option minion wise and I personally like flesh golem but Offering of Blood wouldnt be bad for an elite either(alrdy have pts in blood and great energy management). You have plenty of heals so spaming BotM is no problem, all in all I like you build and it is a nice spin off of a traditional MM.

My suggestion:

Use both +3 Blood and +3 Death Superior Runes.

Well of Blood --> Dark Bond

Max out your Death Magic Attribute and place just enough in Blood Magic to reach an attribute level of 12. Place the leftover into soul reaping.

My reasoning behind this is that, since this is a PvE build, monsters probably are not going to be smart enough to get to you anyways (from personal experience). Therefore, you can afford a lesser ammount of health in favor of a lower sacrifice cost from BotM, which your probably going to be spamming. To counter the lower level of health, I replaced Well of Blood in favor of Dark Bond, just in case.

Another idea to consider is replacing Bone Fiend with Vampiric Horror, and instead of replacing Well of Blood with Dark Bond, replace Deathly Swarm instead. The well synergizes a bit with the melee fighting Vampiric Horrors, which will help to heal you so you can focus more on your attack spells and less on balancing your BotM spamming.

If you are only going to have 1 minion to raise other than Golem, use Fiends or Horrors. Vampiric Horrors take too long to recharge for it to worth it. A lot of things die in 15 seconds. If you can't harness these energies because you aren't using your skills then it's pointless to have Soul Reaping.
